I desired a pillow made of 100% cotton because I rather sleep on something that's natural instead of polyester fibers or goose feathers with a smidge of formaldehyde...Been sleeping on this every night so far and I don't have a problem with it. Compared to my other pillows that I tried before, it's not the most comfortable pillow because it's not as plush as goose down feathers, but it's much better than polyester fiber pillows. They seem to overstuff this pillow which I'm glad because it allows me to choose how packed I want the pillow to be by removing the unwanted cotton.I feel like the price is a bit much at $50... I feel $35 would be more justified since it's just cotton, but the quality is defiantly there.In terms of a smell? For the first few nights or the first week, there was a faint "nature" smell... like a savory musky smell? I don't know how to describe it. It's basically smells like fresh picked cotton. It wasn't bad in my opinion and it wasn't strong at all. Now I can't even tell. All I smell is my shampoo from the previous nights.I wouldn't advise washing this pillow. I mean, you probably could, but the reviews on here seem to say that a horrible smell shows up afterwards and I would agree to them because it sounds plausible because I believe there are impurities mixed in with the cotton. I don't think this cotton is purely filtered at all. I still see seeds and stuff inside the pillow.I mean, I don't mind. As long as I don't see bugs crawling out of my pillow, a little bit of nature isn't going to kill me... the formaldehyde in the goose feather pillow is more of a health risk...Overall, this is a solid quality cotton filled, cotton sheet pillow. I recommend it. You'd probably wanna fluff it up some. Maybe take out the cotton and stretch it out to let some air pockets inside of it to make it fluffy. I'm just suprise not more pillows are made with 100% cotton, inside and out. Cotton is love, cotton is life. hahaAnd yes, this pillow is made from China if that concerns you. It doesn't for me. Honestly, I wouldn't mind if it was made in the USA to allow for more jobs even if I had to pay for a higher price, but I'm just a consumer, not a manager.
